Dear Terry,

I just now read this sad news about your father. As so many others have noted I was concerned when I didn't see him at this year's National, an event that was dear to his heart.

Your father was a born teacher--he loved to share the knowledge he had acquired about 19c baseball and he did so as enthusiastically and unselfishly as anyone I had met in the hobby. Talking with him was always something I looked forward to since I learned so much from our rich conversations. He was a hobby one-of-one and we will all miss him and cherish his memory.

I send my heartfelt condolences to your mother, you, and all of your extended family.
