On March 29, 1979, Easter was shot and killed outside a bank at East 260th Street and Euclid Avenue Cleveland while transporting over $5,000 from payroll checks. Easter was approached by two robbers armed with shotguns and was shot twice at close range after refusing to turn over the funds.
