A BIG THANK YOU to Dan’s Vintage Baseball PC
I’m not a ticket collector per se, I do have a program and ticket for the 1954 World Series at the Polo Grounds for my beloved Giants, but the other day , I was watching Dan’s Vintage Baseball PC on you tube and a recently acquired item he got peaked my interest. It was the post mortem on the recent Shriner’s Show back east. Having watched ( and enjoyed) several of Dan’s presentations , I have learned he is a Boston Braves collector like myself. Not sure of his direction on it , but I know he collects that team . He was showing a recently acquired 1948 World Series ticket - Game 4, significant as during this game Larry Doby became the first African American to hit a home run in World Series history. As I am a collector of 1948 Braves ( Inc pennants, photos, programs in addition to cards), I immediately searched for a game 4 ticket. Found one on eBay, the seller accepted my offer and it arrived today. So thank you Dan for motivating me to get this significant ticket in baseball history.
