Arriving in the coming days.

I stalked this in an auction for months. Performed pretty extensive due diligence on the U.S. soldier stationed in Hawaii pre-WWII and the story all seems to hang.

I acquired a mixed-media photo album he compiled in the early to mid-1930's. There are quite a few mass produced press photos in the album (mostly actors) but a handful of what appear to be original candid photos. Including this one.

If you're familiar with the famous photo of Babe and Duke Kahanamoku taken on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Oahu, this appears to be taken the same day just steps further inland from where the Duke press photo was snapped. Down to the same shorts (likely navy blue with white piping or stripes down the side of the thigh).

Please dm if you know anything I don't know. Whether it supports or refutes my narrative above. I like solving mysteries. I'm convinced it's Type I authentic until proven otherwise. 😁
