Default Babe Ruth And Lou Gehrig Vintage Movie Lobby Cards

Please DM with any question. Payment via Paypal/Venmo/Zelle/Whatever is fine.

Yes, Lou Gehrig co-starred in a movie during his lifetime! In 1938 he teamed up with B-Western star Smith Ballew to create the film Rawhide. Presented here is the best card from the 8 card lobby set, the title card. The card features an image of Gehrig crouching with Ballew beside a wagon wheel. This example is in very nice shape with no pinholes (very rare for there to be no pinholes on a lobby card) and just some minor toning and rippling of the paper.

Asking $200

Amazingly, Babe Ruth is only shown in the background of one of the eight lobby cards from the original release of the 1942 film Pride of the Yankees. After his passing, RKO re-released the film in 1949 taking advantage of the news of his passing. He was shown prominently on two of the eight lobby cards from the 1949 re-release set and is shown prominently in the border art of all of the cards as well. Presented here are two cards from the 1949 re-release featuring Babe Ruth.

This one is the most prized card in the entire set, as Cooper (playing Lou Gehrig) is in uniform on the field with The Babe. Condition is nice, with consideration to several tack (staple) holes in the margins that do not affect the image at all.

Asking $325

This one features Cooper and Teresa Wright with The Babe in the border art. Again has tack (staple) holes that do not affect the scene image at all.

Asking $75
