Bonds is the second-best candidate for MVP if the season ended today. The best one right now is Adrian Beltre. The Dodgers would be absolutely nowhere without his play this year and are leading the division. If they win the West, I rank him above Bonds for his value to the team. Now, if the Dodgers fold and the Giants win, I would give Bonds the nod. I do not give as much value to the achievements of the Cardinals' big guys because their whole team is firing on all cylinders. They each are not as valuable to their teams as the other two are to their teams.
