to own them. Thought I might get some discussion on early baseballs AND it piqued an interest of mine relative to salesman's samples. I have a few books picturing early baseballs, have read a few articles, have followed them and the descriptions in the major catalogs, and picked-up a bit from others. Are there any books that deal with the subject in depth? Is there any place where there is a true timeline with note to dates - sizes - and whatever? I have seen partial insides of a few balls and held a few early trophy balls. Many seem to have a heavy string or cord inside of them. I'm sure one of the notables here have read an account of early baseballs - what they had inside of them etc.. Can someone show me the way?
