Joe_G.I had the great pleasure of meeting "D" some time ago to view the subject ball. Hello D!
Among other things, D allowed me to study and photograph the ball (see below). I'm glad this thread was started as it did turn up some new information relating to the game (the bat & ribbon). Nothing could be found in the Detroit Free Press and they were pretty good at covering local non-pro games. That ribbon and ball belong together.
There are some condition problems with the ball but it presents well where it is most important. Being a suspended ball, the ball/leather have yielded to time with some deformation. Great ball to a Detroit fan & D is one of the best.
