I agree with David. Also, we really can't compare prices on low population 8s or other high grade cards with run of the mill commons. It is a completely different market when you are talking about the kinds of folks who are trying to put together a nm/mt T206 set and someone putting together a vg set (about a $950,000 difference). Over $40 for a gd common sounds a few bucks high, but that is a far cry from $2000 for a common. In spite of them both being T206s, I think it is like comparing apples and oragnes.
