Default T206 HOWIE CAMNITZ sells for $10,900...Collecting Opinions

Basically, you are paying for the holder and the prestige of owning a PSA10 holder.

If the card was a PSA9 (how can a '10' have such a bothersome back?), it would be worth a touch over a grand. I too enjoy rare items (I'm a T206 back junky) but when you get down to it, it's still only a common and not something cool like a Briesh-Williams common that would grade so high, but a common T206 card that would look just as nice in a 6, 7 or 8 holder. And the story about the back-out...makes me shiver a tad.

My advice, wait or save up for a Ty Cobb T206 with a Ty Cobb back in any condition. That's my goal a few years down the line.
