Al C.risafulliThere's a small thread about these a little lower on the page that was started just a couple of days ago. Their designation is R-303, and there are three different variations: R-303A (black and white, and slightly smaller than the others), and R303-B (1 and 2), which are slightly larger, with one being sepia tone and the other being b/w.
Very lightweight stock, tough to find in higher grades, many have pinholes and/or tape/glue marks.
Speculation is that they were produced to help sell a brand of Diamond Stars Gum in the time frame around 1938-1940.
I think they're absolutely stunning cards.
