While Flood didn't actually break down the walls and open up free agency, his case was the first major blow to the owner's reserve clause and brought the union to a more powerful position than it had previously been. It wasn't a knock out blow, but it was a staggering hit. Flood should be celebrated for his courage and honored for it as well. IMHO.
