When I first heard that line about Little Jerry, I laughed so hard I cried. Just a few years before I had taken my dachshund to a local high school football field and was playing with him. I had my wife time him and me running a 50-yard dash. I think he did it in like 14 or 15 seconds, I don't remember exactly.
The next day at work I was proudly telling a friend about Sam's time, and my friend repeated George's question. And, like Jerry, I shrugged and said I had no idea.
To see that very scenario play out a few years later on TV's most popular program, I just about croaked.
