JosephThat's a rather brazen response from the seller. The problem is, this guy has legitimate collectibles scattered throughout the outright fakes and "fantasy" items in his offerings. This can be confusing to a novice (or hopeful) buyer. He also does things like take magazine ads or pages from a book and paste them on board--so that one could say that the item is, in fact, vintage. Sad, pathetic, and outrageous.
Sellers like this are the bane of the antiques business (people who get burned sometimes sour on the whole experience) and eBay is not doing nearly enough to stop these folks. On another recent post, however, hope springs eternal:
