Default Talking RAMLY's....which are the toughest T204 cards ?

Posted By: Bill Cornell

Never realized Powell was Howell. Ow... ell.

The McIntyre and Donahue naming problems were corrected recently by SGC (they persist in the SCD catalog). They also removed the square border Howard from their list. I'm not sure why that card was thought to exist, but it doesn't.

I don't think there are any T204's that are appreciably more difficult. I still need 6, but I don't think they're necessarily more scarce than other Ramlys. Some others that get cited as 'tough' are Paskert, McConnell (but I keep coming across those...), Thomas, and Merkle. I'm skeptical, mostly.

Frank Bancroft is the truly weird inclusion in this set. He was the Cincinnati mgr in 1902 and spent most of his other decades in baseball on the financial end of things. But he was from Worcester, MA, home of the T204 factory - that was his ticket into the set.

The consignor that sold the cards in the recent REA told me he was using the proceeds to buy a riding mower he'd been looking at. And he like baseball card collectors a lot now.
