You nailed it Sagard...the facts are the facts.

Reagan - expanded the federal government, raised taxes and almost spent us into oblivion.

edited to add the upside to Reagan - he lowered taxes then had to raise them out of necessity, and the spending helped in some part (Not as much as Wingers like to give him credit) to bring down the Soviet Union.

Bush the elder - raised taxes and it got him booted from office in 92 because he broke his promise not to.

Clinton - balanced the budget, shrunk the government, signed off on welfare reform, and lowered taxes.

Bush the idiot - lowered taxes, spent us into oblivion and bloated the federal government. He will leave this country in far worse shape than he found it..not all of it his fault, but he will take the brunt of the blame in the history books.

Now the GOP choice is a guy promising to put the federal government in the mortgage business???
