Steve F Matt, I wouldn't be surprised if that sign was rediscovered during demolition, beneath a South End brownstone's old facade. In the 70's, there was a large old "Wild West Show" poster found on an inside wall of a rehabbed Dorchester triple-decker in this manner, that sold for a couple of grand.
