If you tour the H&B museum / factory in Louisville, there's a place where they have the metal plate signatures from thousands of ballplayers. One is attributed to a lady, the others are all men. Joe's wife signed for him.
H&B has the form that was sent to players for them to sign about 6 or 8 times, so the 'best' of the signatures could be converted to a metal plate to burn the name onto the bat. They have the one Babe Ruth signed on display... Bunches of Ruth signatures on there!
