Jim VBI was born in 1955, so I don't remember much of the early years of cutting. My brother was born in 1946, so he was the chief culprit in the 1956-1961 range. I do remember cutting the 1962's with that wood grain edging. Then, suddenly, around 1965, our supply dried up and I never knew why. At that same time, the A&P was consolidating 3 plants into a new facility upstate NY and we moved. Until recently I always assumed that was the reason for no more free cards. Years later, I found that was when Topps had moved their printing to Duryea, PA.
I don't remember cutting anything other than baseball, but I could be wrong.
