Frank WakefieldNot really any more of a crapshoot than buying a slabbed card. True, it has the number it has, but as for the card, some are what the graders thought they were, some cards aren't. The graders getting them right is another crapshoot.
The lesson I learned once was to never bet on the other man's trick. Bet on whether you can or can't do something, but not what they can do... I saw a jack of spades rise up out of a deck, untouched by hands. One beautiful card trick. I lost the bet on it, I learned a really neat card trick, and a great life lesson... never bet on the other man's trick.
So I'll take crapshoots on my ability to identify and judge a card, but not take crapshoots on slabbed cards.
