Welcome! I am relatively new here myself. This is an unbelievably mature and sophisticated forum, most of the time
I have a quickie suggestion for you concerning scanning. When you scan cards that have a white border put a dark colored (black) piece of paper behind the cards and the scanner will crop/autocrop the cards to include all of the white border.
