For the uninitiated: the career contemporary cards of the great negro league players are very very hard to find in nice shape and much more scarce than what we normally consider tough vintage cards to find.
As a Hall of Fame collector I find them the most difficult to even find for sale (even compared with the 19th century HOFers).
Charleston, Mendez and Cooper have been especially elusive for me. (I'm not even considering Pete Hill)
