by frosting I mean that you can tell where the two pieces have pulled apart along the seam...it is not the delicious stuff on a cake, but rather looks kind of like frost on the windshield of your car. Heat would "melt" it and make it go away...some solvents or glue would probably do the same thing.

I do holders like this...I make them myself...and I am trying to get my whole set looking uniform, hence the reason for my prying open the slabs...probably not a great idea from an investment standpoint, but I'll probably keep these the rest of my life....
