I was working at a collectibles show in Massachusetts and met Ray Manzarek from the Doors (one of my favorite bands from my youth). I was outside on a cigarette break (I've since quit) from my booth where I had some antiques and collectibles set up for sale. Ray,who was there signing autographs,came out and asked me for a cigarette. Of course I obliged and gave him one. We ended up talking for a few minutes about the Doors movie and other Doors related stuff while we smoked. I was pretty star struck and babbled like a 16 year old girl. He was really cool though and asked if I wanted an autograph when we both went back inside the show. I said absolutely!!
He went back inside and continued to sign autos for different people at $20.00 each. I stood at the end of the line waiting to get him to sign a photo for me. When he saw me,he motioned for me to come to the front of the line and signed it for free. He was a really nice guy,very down to earth.
