I would not put them in plastic zip loc bags, I would have concerns about oils and acids from the bag leaching into the ball leather long term as well as limiting the air flow around the ball, any added moisture that could be present in the leather of the ball would have no where to go.

I store my collection in acid free document boxes and wrap some in acid-free tissue paper.
