Lineup cards from Oct 7, 1944, Game 4 of the 1944 World Series.

The 1944 World Series was the last WS to feature two teams who played their home games in the same stadium. The Cardinals won Game 4, 5-1 behind a complete game from Harry Brecheen.

In an example of baseball during the war (with so many players drafted), Browns starting pitcher Sig Jakucki had been out of baseball for 5 years before returning in '44 and winning 13 games during the regular season.
Significantly, this game featured Stan Musial hitting a 2-run homer. This would represent the only Playoff Homerun of Musial's career.

The Cardinals lineup card was filled out by HOF manager Billy Southworth. The Browns lineup is signed by manager Luke Sewell.

The lineups also come with a letter from William Harridge to umpire (and former player) George Pipgras informing him that he would be umping the series.

I never thought about these. But after seeing this and reading some of the history I think you might be getting me hook on them.
