Duffy Lewis was washed up when he got to Washington in 1921 just in time to make this Series of 80. Before that, however, he earned a place in the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.

He was the left third of the "Million-Dollar Outfield" (with Speaker and Hooper) that led Boston to three World Series championships between 1912 and 1916.

Back then (actually until 1934), Fenway park featured a 10-foot mound that formed an incline leading up to what we now call "The Green Monster". Lewis became so adroit at playing the incline, it became known as "Duffy's Cliff".
