If the accident had never happened, I wonder if Stratton would have made it in the 1939 Play Ball set. There's a good chance he wouldn't have. There are few White Sox in the set (no Luke Appling or Ted Lyons) and no Cubs at all. There aren't many Cardinals either, so it must have been a challenge for the east coast card manufacturer to sign "western" players. I see just he opposite with the Tattoo Orbit set, which is loaded with Cubs and White Sox, but is lacking in east coast players.
If Stratton didn't get hurt, his best bet probably would have been an exhibit card or a 1941 Double Play ...
