Default Any Animated GIF Experts Out There??

I have a stellar (at least to me) animated gif that I want to be my avatar, but holy heck!!! I cannot get it to work. Does anyone out there have experience in the area and can help lead me out of this morass??

Unless I'm missing something, the obvious problem is net54's maximum size requirements:
"Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

That is a ridiculously small file size for an animated gif. Is there a way around those parameters?

Here's the pertinent info...

1. The image started out as a full baseball card (rectangle) with quite a few frames (15?) and 'delays' involved.

2. Since the size of the file was huge, I've edited it down time and time again (via GIF resizers online), and there's no way in heck I can get it down to 19.5kb, unless I want it to be the size of a pinhead.

3. The GIF is optimized.

4. The latest version I have is now cropped to a square and has only 5 frames, plus 'delays.'

5. No matter what I do here on the site, I cannot get the file to upload (too big) and when the file is uploaded to IMGUR, none of the links allows the file to become my avatar (too big, invalid file, etc., etc.).

Am I just SOL with this? Are there any obvious (specific, not guesswork) steps that I missed??

To paraphrase Dr. Archibald Graham, "Is there enough magic out there in the moonlight to make this GIF dream come true?"
