Let's hope not. There are 20 players in the '33 Goudey set who got into the Hall of Fame thanks to the
Veterans Committee. As Bill James and others have shown, most of these guys (Lindstrom, Haines, Sewell, Klein, Gomez, etc.) were not very good but Frankie Frisch and Bill Terry pushed them in. Never let a player pick a HOFer.
