Machado had several moments but his slide against Pedroia wasn’t one of them. Later in that series Pedroia threw his teammates under the bus when the Red Sox headhunted Machado three times in Baltimore and once in Boston. The slide was hard but nothing excessive. Pedroia was injury prone before and after the slide.
