Just heard from Bill Haelig that former Orioles outfielder Fred Valentine passed away yesterday. Fred played in the major leagues for 7 seasons, spending his entire career in the Baltimore/Washington DC area (3 different seasons with the Orioles and the rest with the Senators).
Fred appeared several times at the Orioles alumni signings at Camden Yards in recent years. He was always very friendly.
