Default Star-Shop at Home Set of blue border 1997 ('84-'85) Olympic Basketball Cards

I have a sealed 9 card set of the 1984-1985 Star cards. I have read about the controversy over these cards and have read the Steve Taft interview and links to the lawsuit against Star and Robert Levin. After reading everything, my question is still, "Do they have value? How is that value determined?" I can't find any current listings for sale of these sets except one on ebay for $10,000. I guess you can ask whatever you want, but I'm looking for a more realistic value. These were left to my husband by my Mother-In-Law along with thousands of cards that I have been able to sell. She was a die-hard Shop at Home shopper. Any information would be appreciated.
