I bought my first card in 1958 and collected until 1963 when I gave up cards, comic books and other similar pursuits. I had at one time more than one complete set of all years (with tons left over), plus Fantastic Four 1-25, Amazing Spiderman 1-25, Avengers 1-20, etc. all complete and in near mint shape. Mom threw out the comics, I got rid of the cards myself. Sports, girls, and just trying to be cool cost me a fortune. I got back in to the card hobby in the early '80s and have been hooked ever since.
