Billy, maybe so. I still think it is authentic, because I bought a group of items at auction from HOF Bill McKechnie's grandson. McKechnie was of course a former player and manager of the Pirates and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1962. All other items were authentic and included; a 1974 letter from Hank Aaron, a 1989 hand written letter from Ernie Banks, a card from Frank Fritch, several Pirate pens from the 50's and a few other items. All of those were authentic, which leads me to believe the Clemente is authentic also.
I guess I'm lucky you're not an authenticator!
