Every sale listed has a Report Error button below it. I've used that to report a bunch of their errors.
There is one for "Item Misclassified" which I've used to report mechanical errors like the one you're talking about. I'm not sure it triggers them to actually change the year the card is from in their database, but it may allow them to move it to a different listing on the APR site.
If they see just how many corrections there are for mechanical errors that get submitted through the APR errors, maybe they'll recommend those card owners who register it on site return it as a mechanical error to get fixed for free.
It looks like they do take it into account. I reported 3 "Item Misclassified" on fantasy Mickey Mantle MLBPA pins and the page now comes back "Auction Price Detail Not Found" at
