Default Indy 500 selling vintage programs

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced the creation of the Indianapolis 500 program vault.

IMS is selling programs from the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's. Prices range from $25 to $60

I ordered a 1955 program. Bill Vukovich was my Dad's favorite driver. He was killed while leading the 1955 race, which would have been his third consecutive win.

The 500 is one of my favorite days of the year. My son and I had attended 10 straight races before this year. I know many who have a much larger streak of attending. My dad was a racing enthusiast who attended races all over the midwest when he was younger (DuQuoin, etc) and took me to races at Michigan (USAC and Nascar) but never attended the 500. When I moved out here in 1997, he came out and we went to carb day, but at 71 he didn't want to go to the race and deal with the crowds. My son and I went for the first time when he was 13. Hopefully we have many more in our future.
