The Mayans made calendars for then present and into the future. For whatever reason, the last calendar they made was for 2112. There is no record of the Mayans saying 2112 is the last year of the world. It was just the last calendar they made. The 'end of the world' is just an interpretation some modern people make.

A good comparison is if you buy a multi-year desk calendar from Hallmark, say for the years 2112, 2113, 2114 and 2115. Of course Hallmark isn't saying with this calendar that the world ends after 2115. They simply made a calendar for four years.

And, besides, even if the Mayans said 2112 was the last year of the world, that doesn't mean they had any idea what they were talking about. Though I understand some people just love those "ancient prophesies."

In short, I just got off the phone with Hallmark, and they want to assure us that there will be a 2116. Assuming you purchase their line of 2116 products.
