My son learned to skate on a pond that we would frequent every weekend at my buddies place. I had an atv with a plow and I would clear a large section every time it snowed.
Made for a great weekend gathering with friends and having a pond side fire going to help keep warm when needed.
I miss those days as it was great watching my son develop into a great skater and hockey player.
