The 1971 Topps set was ground breaking on so many levels. It was the first year the post series cards were featured in true color. Obviously, since this was the first year, they tried the playoff cards in the noted tints. Rose colored for the National League and Green for the American League. The World Series cards themselves was glorious color. Either the idea didn't go over to well or Topps had second thoughts because in 1972 all post series cards were in complete color for the first time. There was no turning back after that.
