'53 Dodgers were the winningest NL team of all time until the 2020 Dodgers. On their way to another World Series showdown they beat the Giants, but lost an all-star in Carl Furillo. He got into a fight Leo Durocher, the new Giant manager, and broke his hand. Missed the postseason where the Dodgers again lost to the Yankees.

The Brawl. Jackie scoring last run of that game. And a stub.

And a '53 Topps. My favorite card.

Brett, I’m loving your Jackie collection. That is a beautiful ’53. Has anyone else noticed the blue mark in the sky next to Jackie’s hat on the ‘53? When I first got mine in hand I thought it was a pen mark. I wonder if it was a stray mark from the painter’s brush on the original or a printing mark on the card. Has anyone seen a picture of the original painting? I know it was auctioned off with a bunch of the other ‘53 paintings in the 80’s, but I’ve never seen a picture of the actual painting.
