It is debatable if the Potato Chip backs should be considered their own set, variations, or simply marked cards.
Since the markings are true to the period, and had their own distribution as a food product premium, I am in favor of considing them their own set (such as Desert Shield baseball cards). I would hope that PSA would recognize them as such. |
I think the difference here is that someone could make a stamp and then start stamping the regular cards in order to complete a set.....I think we are going to have to leave the stamped backs alone as there is too much chance for fraud.
