How fast do ball come off of a baseball bat??

Surely they are in excess of 100 mph, right?

I think if you set up a pitching machine at 120 mph and fired a baseball through it from 6 inches off the ground and aimed it to a height of 3.5 feet at the pitcher's mound...

I think that ball would go a pretty long ways.
