Playing around with some low-cost junk wax graded:

1987 Donruss Kevin Brown RC PSA 9- $9.52 delivered
1989 Topps Traded Kevin Brown PSA 9 - $8.67 delivered
1989 Score Traded Kevin Brown PSA 9 - $7.47 delivered

The 1989 Brown cards are graded at much lower numbers than the ‘87, to the extent that a search for “1989 Kevin Brown PSA 9” on eBay returns one result.

It’s likely the year for Curt Schilling and the HOF (he deleted his Twitter account in this election year, which should help).

Schilling was 216-146 with a 3.46 ERA (127 ERA+) and 79.5 WAR.

Brown, who was one-and-done on the HOF ballot, was 211-144 with a 3.28 ERA (127 ERA+) and 67.8 WAR

The WAR difference is significant...but those raw numbers are really similar.

I think when the eventual reckoning of HOF SP standards happens, Brown will get in via the vets committee.
