Default 1903 Giants mag picture - "premium" description drives up price

Posted By: David

Hi Scott, I agree with you, that 'premium' was tagged on to boost the price.

I do note that Burr McIntosh was not your ordinary magazine. McIntosh was a well known New York celebrety photography, and the quality art or photo pages were bound with ribbon. The picture you have is, at the least, a step up from from a picture cut out of Time or Sports Illustrated. Other than in perception, the distribution and presentation of the Burr McIntosh pages is not that much different than the circa 1900 Sporting News Suppliments. While the Sporting News Suppliments were inserted individually in magazines, bound sets (with holes where they were bound)could be sent away for. The same goes for the parallel National Copper Plate set.
