I get the same reactions with my Kahn's cards from the insert era. The few Marhoefer's I've seen in the wild have been really rough and stained up. Yours is one of the nicer ones.
At least they aren't package cut-out cards. Those are usually wrecked by the kid's poor motor skills with scissors.
