Printers have been able to add/change/delete team names on uniforms for a long time. It was done much earlier than the 1920's. The Mayo's are a great example. Both Ewing cards are the same pose, with a different team name on the shirt. I just realized that the Kid Nichols photo was actually taken while he was still on the minor league Omaha team. Boston was later added to his uniform.
