I don't know if this means anything or not but there was a Piedmont park in Atlanta at which the Indians trained in the early 1900's. Now I don't know if they sold heaters at the park in those days or not, but if they did I'm sure they only sold Piedmont smokes and I'd imagine a young fella like Russell could have acquired a nice collection of Piedmont T cards by scouring the ballpark grounds and asking for the cards from those packs.
