When I contact bidders in an auction, i usually do it in an "informative" manner...

I'll say things like: "hey, it looks like a lot of people are talking about this item in this auction as being a FAKE. You may want to take a look here at this link and see what you think... Just a friendly heads-up!"

I'm not telling them what to do, I'm just passing on information. I'm not even interfering with an auction. Passing on public information can't be a violation... At least, for me, it hasn't been yet.
