I have nothing but good memories of the Hulkster. I remember being very small and watching him whip all the bad guys. But then in HS, he joined a rival promotion and became the bad guy! Whichever side he was on, he was always the main attraction. I remember my buddies and I would spend hours playing WCW/NWO on my N64 - those were the days!
It sucks that he passed away in his early seventies. However, for a wrestler, that's pretty old. Most wrestlers that I grew up admiring died very young. These guys pay a huge price for doing what they love. Hogan was in horrible pain on a daily basis, and in addition to taking medicines prescribed by the doctor, he was self-medicating as well (booze). Very sad. RIP, champ! |
